Dr. Javad Parvizi is a native of Azerbaijan, Iran, where he lived until the age of 16. He trained in the United Kingdom, the United States of America, and Switzerland. Dr. Parvizi is a board certified Orthopedic Surgeon in the USA & UK. He served as the Director of Clinical Research at the Rothman Orthopedic Institute, Philadelphia, PA, USA for 20 years (2003-2023). Dr. Parvizi holds the James Edwards Professor Chair of Orthopedics at Thomas Jefferson University.
Dr Parvizi specializes in the management of young patients with hip disorders such as dysplasia, femoroacetabular impingement and other complex hip and knee conditions. He is a renowned world expert in the field of periprosthetic joint infection, joint preservation, and joint reconstruction. Dr. Parvizi has performed so far over 10,000 joint replacements, over 2000 hip preservation surgeries and over 1000 revision surgeries for infections (femoroacetabular osteoplastypelvic and femoral osteotomies).
Nowadays, he continues to help patients of any age, performing hundreds of hip and knee replacements and revision surgeries per year.
